How the calculation works
- For each road type: unit rate from the table × whole kilometres driven. The trip cost is the sum of both.
- Category: the vehicle's maximum permissible mass. For a combination, add up the maximum masses of the tractor and trailers shown in the registration documents.
- Euro class: the one on the registration certificate. If it is not shown, the Euro 0 rate applies.
- Kilometres: only those on CNAIR's tolled network (national roads, expressways, motorways). Crossings of municipii do not count.
- Euros: converted at the NBR rate of 07/10/2026, rounded to the cent. It is indicative: payment is made in lei.

TollRo calculation: frequently asked questions
How is the TollRo cost calculated?
The unit rate from the table, which depends on the category, the Euro class and the road type, is multiplied by the whole kilometres driven on that road type. The calculator applies order No. 1925/2025.
Which category applies to a combination with a trailer?
The combination's: add up the maximum masses of the tractor and trailers shown in the registration documents. A tractor with its semi-trailer falls into the "12 t or more" category.
What if the Euro class is not on the registration certificate?
The Euro 0 rate, the highest, applies: choose "Euro III to 0". Check the certificate before setting off.
Do city crossings count?
No. Crossings of municipii, the cities with municipal status that include every county seat, are not tolled between the town entry and exit signs. Enter tolled kilometres only.
Is the amount in euros what I will pay?
No. Payment is made in lei; the euro equivalent is indicative, at the NBR rate of 07/10/2026. The amount in lei applies the official rate table.
Will TollRo rates change?
Yes, they are indexed to inflation every 1 January. When its rate table has passed its validity period, the calculator says so.
